Atop the Eastern Continental Divide, in the location designated by
legendary pioneer, explorer, and hunter, Christian Garlitz, for
community gatherings, the Avilton Community Center will soon open. The
new modern center has been rebuilt after a devastating fire leveled the
previous St. Ann’s Community Building more than five years ago.
The Avilton Community Center has the seating capacity for 280 people in
the 3000 square foot building. As yet, there are no kitchen facilities,
so outside catering is necessary for events; however, there are round
and rectangular tables and chairs to seat 280, modern restrooms, and
spacious grounds for activities.
